Memorial Day

Memorial Day weekend was awesome.  It felt like a little staycation, since Jamie had a 5 day weekend. We hit NRH2O (water park) on Friday and again on Tuesday.  Sunday evening we headed down to the lake to camp with the Lightsey family.  One night of camping is about all I'm up for! I'm just not an outdoorsy girl, I can't help it.  Waking up to this face made the 5:45am wake up call almost bearable:

Memorial Day 2012
Once I was a little more awake, I forgave him for waking up so early and we started our fun day! We fished and swam in the lake, swam at the clubhouse pool, took rides on the boat and seado, played with cousins, and ate lots of junk food!

We got to tell my family in person that we were are having a girl, which was fun.  They didn't know I'd rescheduled my ultrasound so they weren't even expecting an announcement... so exciting!
I love this picture of me and my not-so-little man (and little lady inside!)

Breakfast with cousins...Cade could not be bothered to put down his cereal!

Papa is a good sport!

Recharging

Last weekend we enjoyed some much needed recharging of our batteries. Jamie needed it the most. He was coming off of a 60 hour work week after 80 hours the week before. The forecast promised sunny skies and temperatures in the 70's. We knew our plans were going to include two things: being together and being outside.

Friday we packed some snacks and water bottles and went to the park.

Cade always begs for "under-dog" on the swings. Daddy does them the best!

The day off wouldn't be complete without a few texts or emails from work!

Snack break

loooove these pictures of Bossy and me.

After the park, we decided to go camping at my parents' lake property. By the time we got packed and drove down with dinner on the way, it was dark. Still, the boys wanted to do a little fishing before bedtime.

Boston: "I think I caught an alligator garr!"
Cade: "I wanna see!"

For some reason when I put Lily's food out, Cade was super interested. He wanted her to eat out of his hand. He even gave her a little scratch while she ate!

A campout wouldn't be complete without a fire and s'mores! The boys just wanted to eat the marshmallows and watch them roast/burn, but weren't too interested in the whole s'more. Jamie and I enjoyed ours, though!

First thing Saturday morning the boys got to work digging in the sand. This is Boston's favorite thing to do at the lake.

Jamie trying to teach the boys to play tic-tac-toe in the sand...they weren't into it.

Our campsite. Can't beat the view!

Jamie getting ready for a little game of fetch with the beast, as I affectionately call her.

Scooping lots of sand/dirt into the lake...

and on themselves!

Lily kept busy chasing ducks and floating sticks in the lake.

After getting sand in his eyes or mouth one too many times, Cade announced "wanna go in da tent an take a rest." And that's just what he did!

Boss loved filling his truck with sand over and over

The Fourth

July 4th, 2009. Where to begin...

My parents have some lake-front property on Lake Richland Chambers so we went down on Friday afternoon and camped, then spent Saturday on the lake and swimming at the club house. We ate, Cade napped in the workout room, the boys wakeboarded (is that a word?), we swam, and ate some more.

Jamie had made a water balloon launcher just for the occasion

Guess who else HAD to try it!
Friday night movie:
Saturday morning at the "kid's table"Plenty of dirt and sticks and places to explore.

Graham found a dead fish floating in the water. The boys were fascinated (and only a little scared).
Jamie go to do some boating/jetskiing/wakeboarding

Cade was...well...Cade. His usual happy self!
There was a little of this:And luckily not too much of this:
